We’re entering our 7th year in Durango, and our church plant, El Camino, celebrated its 5th birthday in September.
So much has been accomplished in a short period of time, it’s really difficult to describe … but here we go!
We started a small discipleship school, which grew and grew, and today is a church plant.
The church outgrew our small apartment, and we built God’s family a house of worship.
God provided us with an old beer and grocery store, and we turned it into a place of worship, and a place to meet all the different ministry needs of our local congregation.
On September 11, 2011, we officially opened the doors to El Camino Church!
Here is a quick rundown of what God has done in the past 5 years:
- to date, we have 108 baptisms of newly converted Christians.
- 90% of our congregation are new converts, or first generation Christians.
- we trained and equipped newly converted, national, Christian leaders to minister in all departments.
- we’ve celebrated 9 weddings and welcomed three new babies into God’s Durango family.
- we’ve hosted 42 benevolence events and are familiar faces at all the local hospitals.
- in one medical event, we diagnosed and treated over 160 locals who were unaware that they were in need of medical care.
- in spite of much persecution, all of our ministries continue to grow!
- we have a bus route that services the local village.
- we have fed the hungry, clothed the poor, given Christmas to the orphans and the less fortunate, and provided medicine to the sick.
In the past five years, partnered with an amazing ministry team, we have given away over $37,000 in food, clothing, and medical care for our local village.

Most of our congregants live in the near-by village and survive on $10 or less a day. Because of this, they are not able to support the daily operations of our ministry.
We have touched and transformed so many lives, and our growth and impact have been phenomenal!
